Senior members of GCLETE, in coordination with the Major Cities Chiefs Association, coordinated a mission to the Southwest border. The purpose of this mission was to bring together a distinguished group of law enforcement executives comprising major city police chiefs and State Police leaders to the Southwest Border (SWB) so they may have the opportunity to better understand the impact of Mexican cartels and other transnational organized crimes and the direct impact on rural, suburban, and urban crime, specifically concerning human smuggling/trafficking and fentanyl/opioid trafficking. The goal of this mission was to increase knowledge, information sharing, and collaboration between border agencies and American police chiefs and executives.
