We at GCLETE were pleased to have the opportunity to host Chief Pamela A. Smith, the newly appointed Washington DC Metro Police Chief, accompanied by Lindsey Appiah the Washington DC Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice. We were also joined by senior members of MPD; Chief of Staff Marvin Haiman, Assistant Chief of Police Leslie Parsons, Assistant Chief of Police Carlos Heraud, and Lt. Shaquinta Gaines at the NJ State Police Real Time Crime Center. Special thanks to NJSP Superintendent, Colonel Patrick Callahan and LTC Joseph P. Brennan for their hospitality. Discussions focused on gun violence, gang suppression, and the use of AI and drones. This meeting was organized under the auspices of the Global Consortium of Law Enforcement Training Executives (GCLETE) and the Rutgers Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience.
